The primary purpose of the Carpenter is to provide acceptable trade skills necessary to meet project requirements and completion timeframes. The Carpenter reports to the Foreman.

Responsibilities
- Conduct themselves in alignment with the Downing Core Values
- Take direction from the Foreman and the jobsite Superintendent
- Lead crews as determined by the Foreman and jobsite Superintendent
- Study specification in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine process and materials required
- Prepare material to specified measurements using hand tools or power tools
- Install, repair, or finish structures and fixtures such as, but not limited to, windows, frames, flooring, walls, trim, and hardware using hand tools or power tools
- Build or repair cabinetry, doors, frameworks, or other wooden fixtures using woodworking machinery, carpentry hand tools or power tools
- Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Perform minor concrete work
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Perform all work with plan compliance
- Comply with all work-related deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One to two years of field experience
- CPR & First Aid certified
- Be in good physical condition with ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to actively listen to gain understanding of comments and questions
- Ability to pay attention to minute details of a project or task
- Ability to find a solution or deal proactively with work related issues
